I get it. We all want our kids to explore, learn and have fun but don’t really want the mess. I’m totally with you. So, I was on a quest to find some no mess sensory play.

The absolute best option I have found so far are water beads!! Have you heard of them?

They are so nontoxic, ecofriendly and reusable.

Plus, did I mention they are no mess!!

No Mess Sensory Play = Water Beads

This is absolutely my favorite sensory play to date. It’s so easy and there is definitely a wow factor!

The beads start out about the size of a grain of quinoa and end up the size of a marble!

How to Use Water Beads

  • Take one tablespoon of water beads
  • Add to 1/2 gallon of water
  • Let sit for about 8 hours
  • Then you’ll have 8 cups of water beads!

Ya’ll I’m not lying when I say this was like magic! Plus, it’s the longest my son has ever played with a sensory bin.

This new record was upward of 30 minutes and he still wanted to play but I needed to shut it down since we had some other things to do.

But, if you do want to extend your explore time just add some other containers you have around the kitchen.

This is a great way for your child to explore and use their imagination while not making a mess (enter the hallelujah chorus)!

And to make it even more awesome…this entire bag was around $7!

Now, go forth and have some no mess sensory play with your toddler!

Until next time,

Go get ’em!
