We are going to go over some super fun sensory bin ideas for toddlers today! But before we get too deep into it. Let’s go over a few things!

Why Is Sensory Bin Play So Important for Toddlers?

Sensory play is important because it stimulates children’s senses.

You know the ones; hearing, seeing, touching, tasting and smelling. Messy play (aka sensory play) entices their curiosity and encourage kids to explore while they create, investigate and learn through play .

What are the Benefits of Sensory Bin Play?

Sensory play builds nerve connections within developing brain’s neural pathways. This triggers children’s inclination to complete more complex learning tasks.

This type of play also encourages language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving and social interaction.

Sensory Bins for Toddlers Can be Crazy Simple

Yes, today’s theme is more complex than my normal sensory bin, but also, not really.

The blueprint of a good sensory bin contains:

  • A Container – This can be a fancy sensory bin container or something as simple as a rubbermaid container you have in the kitchen. You basically just need something your toddler can play in.
  • A Filler – Usually something like rice, beans, cheerios or sand. But, use what you are most comfortable with.
  • Objects to Manipulate – This can be as simple as pom poms or toy figurines you already have at home. I love to add in tongs or a shovel for added fine motor skills practice.

Now, that you have a little. more background knowledge and hopefully the belief that you can totally create an awesome sensory bin for your toddler.

Let’s get deeper into each theme of the Taylor Swift Sensory Bins for your toddler!
