Things I’m Loving Friday #6

Hey gals and guys, I hope everyone has had an amazing week! I don’t know about you but I was super excited that it didn’t start off with rain. Lately I have been feeling like it rains every Monday and that’s just adding insult to injury if you ask me. So, when it didn’t rain this Monday I felt like it was Mother Nature saying here you go, you go and have yourself a good week! And that’s just what I did! Well, for the most part.

Foster is teething so that made a few days not so great but he’s a trooper and is trying to push through it. Teething is just tough. There’s not much I can do to help him and I don’t know exactly how he’s feeling because of the whole not talking yet thing.

But all in all our week was pretty stellar. Now onto sharing a few of my favorite thing from the week…Things I’m Loving Friday #6:

Big Lots Pillow

Big Lots is the perfect place to go when you want to find a deal! I usually go when I’m looking for something specific…like pillows.

Recently we got a new couch (aka Aaron’s parents let us have their old one and that was super nice and generous of them). We have been thrilled about how perfect it is for our bonus room.

Up until now the room has been pretty unfinished since we didn’t hang out in it that much. That all changed when Foster became more adventurous and is very interested in pulling up and walking. These two developments meant I needed carpeted floors (for padding) and a door (for shutting). It just so happens that our bonus room has both of those things…perfection! Needless to say this is our new hang out spot.

I wanted to make sure it was a happy place to hang. Pillows came to mind since a good pillow can change the feel of a room. But, pillows are expensive and that is how I ended up at Big Lots. I was so excited I did because I found this gem of a pillow. Perfect mix of happy, comfy and our favorite song right now!! Thanks B.L!

Birthday Party Sparkling Candle

Foster has his 1st Birthday coming up in less than two weeks! For his smash cake I’m planning to keep the cake pretty simple. The one I’m getting kind of looks like the top tier of a wedding cake. So, the perfect size for him to “experiment” with. Plus it’s white so I don’t need to worry about the food dye.

But, I wanted  bit of a pop to make the cake stand out a bit more. This is where my little candle find comes in.

I found this one candle at Amazon and I was super excited! It’s a great price…around $5ish dollars which is way less than the ones I found on Etsy. Plus it’s pretty and will help me achieve the look I’m going for…happy!

Hillary Scott’s They Will

This song has become somewhat of an anthem to me. I can usually listen to it and release whatever worry or fear I’m holding onto. Now that I think about it, maybe I should have it on repeat all day long?!

It’s such a simple yet beautiful song that gives God the glory and power. If you haven’t listened yet you should check it out for sure!

Food Freedom Forever by Melissa Hartwig

Aaron got me this book for my birthday. I requested it so don’t think he was trying to give me hints or something, but maybe that’s just the way I think. Anyways, I’m only a few chapters in but I’m already loving it.

Unfortunately, I have developed some negative relationships with food. I am getting better/stronger about them but I’m still a work in progress.

We finished our first Whole 30 in February and it was amazing but since going back to our previous way of eating I’m noticing that I’m not feeling that great again. Food Freedom Forever recommends a reset when you feel like you are out of control or trying to break bad habits (like chewing a ton of gum).

One form of the reset is the Whole 30, so I’m seriously thinking about doing it again. Key word thinking! You have to be mentally ready to let go of all the good stuff that the program asks you to. But, in the long run I think it’s way worth it.

Alright, sweet people there you have it. Things I’m Loving Friday!!

What is something you are loving? Share the wealth. Oh and have a fabulous weekend!
